After teaching a Elemental Meditation as part of metaDen’s Reparations Clinic participants asked How do I grow my mindful practice?

So I am going to share my journey with you all. First I had to learn this journey is within myself for myself and will take all my life and lifelines after. My self work will affect generations past, present and future. As well as my younger, present and older Self.

Once I got that and remember to be kind, gentle and soft with myself along the way. I was ready to dig in.

MY PHASES OF THE JOURNEY Not in any specific order.

Self Reflection: being able to notice aspects, thoughts and behaviours of Self
Connection to Nature: being outside, learning about plants and wild animals, growing plants, foraging plants, learning the cycles of life, finding comfort in Nature
Meditation: slowing down, going inward and being with just myself, visualizing for the future
Spirituality: learning about my ethnic based spiritual practices and integrating them into my life
Cultural Exploration: learning what I can, feeling into, honouring and asking for support from my Ancestry
Majik Practice: finding the magical, whimsical, imaginative spaces inside myself and using them to better my world
Exercise: working out the body, mind and spirit
Self Care: learning about my mind, body and spirit and how to nourish myself
Social Intimacy: sharing emotions and care. connection with friends, family, community, and neighbours to share my mindful self with
Boundaries: knowing what and how I need and expressing that to others
Therapy: many different types of therapy aide with connecting deeper with my body, releasing stored trauma and activating potential
Rest: learning how to slow down, unplug, and listen to my body when to rejuvenate
Play: engaging my imagination, making up games, crafting and laughing to regain my sense of wonder and awe

RESOURCES

I use a series of journals to document, track and reflect on my mindful journey. I also formed a community full of majikal Nature lovers who value mindfulness.

Our youtube channel + previous channel: Follow our new channel for content on mindfulness. we release at least 2 captioned videos per Moon cycle on rest, spirituality and dream work. Explore our old channel for self care practices, community engagement, zines and herbalism.

I offer 1:1 Liberation Coaching sessions where we center rest, spirituality, herbal medicine, and mindfulness so you can become your best self. Check back in July for our lineup of Fall Workshops + coaching memberships.
