Grow Together Musical Program
This is a virtual, interactive exploration of a multi-media community musical.

The Grow Together Musical was arranged to transport the audience though stories rooted in honesty and vulnerability, community and relationships, Ancestry and strength. Grow Together is an adventure into cycles we experience, of hope and limitations, of loss and growth, of accountability, nourishment, and radical change. Within and across the scenes, you are invited to find yourself.

For our Afro and Indigenous audience members surviving systemic oppression, we are deserving of abundance and we are owed. We hope this Musical affirms these truths in you, fostering hopefulness and reverence for your wildest dreams, for yourself and our communities. We believe in your positive imagination and we believe in you.

For our European settler audience members who benefit from the systemic oppression of their neighbors, the Grow Together Musical invites you to self reflect on the question of who do you owe? What will you return to those you owe? What can you do to give rest, nourishment, remedy and racial reckoning to those you owe? And how can your own dreams be accountable to what you owe?

All participants are encouraged to self-reflect and do better. How do we Grow Together? How might you bring your community into Grow[ing] Together alongside other communities? What are we growing towards? And who or what supports us in doing this work?

Opening Pan-African Blessing
We summon Fire, Water, Earth, Mineral and Nature.

Fire

Spark our curiousity.
Allowing us to learn and grow our acceptance.

Earth

Ground us.
Deep into our Ancestral lands

Water

Flood this space with our Ancestry.
Take the reigns of this creation so we may ride the waves into utopia.

Mineral

Reflect our complexities so all may witness our value.

Nature

May we sprout roots.
Proud, confident, abundant, joyful.
Great Spirit, thank you.
I am so grateful for all your gifts.

Thank you, Elements. Stay or go your work in this space is complete.
We bless your name.
