Low media coverage and support for “Mississippi” residents during an ongoing electricity and water shortage.

This all began mid-February with a winter storm knocking out electrical lines and bursting water pipes and continual 20 degree weather. Most of the infrastructure predates the Great Depression and updates will have saved many hardships during this crisis. Perhaps you heard of similar in “Arizona + Texas“. After three weeks and minimal mutual or government aide most of the state is back with basic amenities. Many others still wait in the cold, damp, dark for support.

We attribute the lack of support and overall national concern to anti-blackness and dismissal of the low-income Afro residents. If you or someone you know needs support we did find a few resources.

Please take the moments to spread awareness of this grave injustice.
