A blurry foreground of orange luggage leads into the middle ground of a flower bouquet in focus, containing bright yellow sunflowers and red carnations that have white outlining coloration on the petals. The bouquet bag stands elegantly in a cooler. In the background there are train tracks amongst rocks and green herbaceous plants.

Artistic Apothecary is a labour of love sparked from our solidarity work with the Indigenous Diné Nation. For over a decade, our Big Mountain Garden Network expands this relationship by creating opportunities for People of Culture to connect with Hopi and Diné Indigenous Elders. Based in Pueblo and Apache lands, ‘Albuquerque’, our ongoing work fosters intergenerational knowledge sharing and climate preparedness skill-building based in Ancestral land stewardship and dry-land agricultural practices.

Our Indigenous Solidarity Fundraiser + Donation Drive (May 04) is an impactful, community-led initiative embodying cross-cultural themes. Along with raising awareness, we raise donations, both in-kind and monetary, to support 6 dry-land plots.

Our family friendly event has 3 pillars: Education, Action and Engagement.

Cartoon image of a brown person that is smiling in a pink dress who stands in the middle of 4 garden beds. The background is green and the foreground shows two garden beds that have green and white plants on the right, and orange and white plants on the left. Behind the person are garden beds to the right and left that have tall plants and leafy plants.

Education – Using our Natural Corridors Connectivity a large-format, interactive poster outlining the ways expansive habitat pathways create a vibrant ecosystem full of animals and elements. Along with how the severe loss of native plants and normalization of heavy chemicals strip the nourishment from the land aiding global warming and bio-chem diseases. Doubling as a craft table colouring page outlining the effects of deforestation on the pollinators.

Action – Inspire and equip participants with ways to join our organization’s Indigenous Solidarity Trip June 2-8, becoming part of our Liberatory Network. A direct action camp supporting and supplying Indigenous families with resources for their growing season and native land conservation with an emphasis on slowing the water.

Engagement – A gathering where participants can build long-lasting collective and interconnected relationships, while accessing fellowship that supports their growth in Truth & Reconciliation. Face painting, crafts, lawn games, music, cultural cuisine, plant & Seed swap, and wellness clinic.

Bring to share!

We are selling our tutorial zines in printed paper format, 5-10$.
