Greetings!

It is a new season and a new Sun cycle. Spring offers us renewed opportunities for connection and resolution. Creatures are coming out of hibernation, reconnecting with community after rest and protection from colder weather. As part of your new you resolutions, we invite you to write to a community member who is incarcerated. As we greet seeds and sprouts of new growth, appreciating plants for their colorful returns, let us remind our community members inside that they have value.

Take a few moments this Spring to write to a pen pal who is incarcerated. Share your solidarity, your new you resolutions, your favorite Spring scenes or activities. You can find resources for writing to incarcerated pen pals in this blog post. If you like, you can use this card.

pass on the writing? Donate to and share these fundraisers in support of community members, Geremy Sledge and Sekou Odinga. Geremy is an artist and activist, up for parole in 2024 after 20 years in prison. Geremy is not allowed to speak to the parole board directly, and is only allowed an attorney to advocate for him, making financial support critical. Sekou Odinga is a Afro liberation activist who spent 33 years in state captivity for his organizing work with the Black Panther Party. Sekou Odinga is now experiencing serious health complications, you can support his recovery here.
