Beautiful Beings,

So much is happening and we finally have a new Jelly Of All Trades. We will update you this summer as we spring into celebrating PRIDE and Juneteenth!!

Ah! Time is an illusion. And in the Southwest we are noticing a ripple from the fires. Mainly in the form of postponed gigs. As people prioritize their private lives. We are thrilled!!

Well as usual we are going at our own pace and offering mutual aide. This is a list we generated supporting folks effected by the colonial Los Angeles region fires.

Supporting artists
The Robert Rauschenberg Foundation was proud to contribute to the LA Arts Community Fire Relief Fund. Led by J. Paul Getty Trust and a coalition of arts organizations, this fund aimed to provide emergency relief for artists and arts workers who have been impacted by the devastating Los Angeles fires.

Prison Labor Highlighted During Wildfires
“In teaching about the wildfires in colonial Los Angeles, a key story to include is the role of incarcerated labor. Nearly a thousand of the firefighters deployed to help contain the devastating fires are incarcerated. They have been working around the clock while earning as little as between $5.80 to $10.24 a shift. For more on how incarcerated firefighting program works, we speak to investigative journalist Keri Blakinger, who is herself formerly incarcerated, and who recently had to evacuate her home.” See interview.
