Moment to Pause to honour Seeds

Due to coronavirus, climate change and capitalism the demand for Seeds especially organic, cultural and heirloom is up 600%. That means our usual way of requesting Seeds from companies, who are back ordered and out of stock, is yeilding few donations.

Even though the abundance of Seed companies is limited we know we can count on the community. We know there are many of you hobby, recreational, seasoned and first try SEED SAVERS out there. We call upon you in this moment of great need. Please consider donating your home harvested Seeds. All we ask is that the Seeds are grown without chemical treatments and have no chemical coatings!

Through the cultivation and distribution of cultural Seeds we affirm the societal greatness of low-income, genderqueer People Of Heritage (Of Colour). We work to reestablish sovereign governance, advocate for healthy food, land access, reparations, accessibility, abolition and accountability. We prioritize collective care, spiritual wellness and ancestral wisdom.

Since 2011, with our BY US, FOR US model, we center intersectionality, blackness, disabilities and those incarcerated. The Seeds you donate will be used in our zero waste community garden.

We already received Seeds from Tina Faris at the tiny garden. We are so grateful! Tina exemplifies the potency of small scale gardening, seed saving and distribution of resources.

When donating you can share the story of the Seed variety, How you got the seeds, how they grew for you, any wisdom the plant shared and/or why you love SEEDS!

As much as we love offering cultural Seeds to our community we know something is better than nothing and welcome all types of Seeds to keep our community in rest!

We are able to receive Seed donations via the United States Postal Service.

Also consider donating your 2021 home harvests to us as the necessity for Seeds will only increase. Perhaps you want to grow specific varieties that we use regularly, we can ship you some Seeds to grow out and save for us!
